Santa Maria<\/strong>
The Sunday market in Santa Maria is a festival for connoisseurs. Gourmets get their money’s worth here when local delicacies and culinary highlights adorn the stalls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Palma<\/strong>
In the summer months from May to October, Passeig de Se Sagrera in Palma is transformed into a market oasis from Thursday to Sunday. There you can stroll between tall palm trees and stroll towards the cathedral. There is also an indoor market, the Palma Mercat d’Olivar, which is open almost every day. Throughout Spain, the Three Wise Men are welcomed on 6 January before handing out presents.
One of the highlights of this day is the impressive procession that arrives in the harbor of Palma. This colorful event with numerous performances is not to be missed.
Sant Antoni is celebrated on 16 January. In every town on Mallorca you can watch
can experience impressive fire shows in the streets. Further bonfire festivals take place on 19 and 20 January.
Carnival in February lasts almost a whole month and is celebrated throughout Mallorca. Every town and village has its own carnival, which is characterized by bright colors, street art, parades and numerous activities for children. A particular highlight is the carnival in Palma, which usually takes place on the second weekend in February along the Avinguda de Jaume.
In March, during the Easter period, numerous processions make their way through Palma and other towns on the island. These festive processions are an impressive experience and show the deep cultural attachment of the inhabitants to their traditions.
Sant Joan is celebrated on 24 June. On the evening of the 23rd, people flock to the beaches to light bonfires, barbecue and swim in the sea at midnight. This festive night with its unique atmosphere is one of the highlights of summer on Mallorca.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Serra de Tramuntana was added to the World Heritage List in 2011. The mountain range stretches over 90 kilometers in the northwest of Mallorca. At 1,445 meters, Puig Major is the highest mountain in the Serra de Tramuntana. On its slopes are two turquoise-blue reservoirs that stretch out at the foot of the imposing mountain. Goats also like to climb through the rocks here. The region is home to around 300 different plant species.
The Serra de Tramuntana offers spectacular views of the Mediterranean, picturesque villages and fertile valleys. Hikers and cyclists can explore the beauty of this region on numerous trails, which are particularly popular with cyclists. Excursion tip<\/strong>
A trip on the “Red Lightning” in the Tramuntana mountains from Palma to Soller and back is highly recommended. The historic railway has been in operation for over a hundred years and offers not only a special experience, but also the opportunity to admire the breathtaking landscape. The train travels through tunnels, over bridges and past citrus plantations to Soller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
